Needs Assessment & Goal Analysis

During my time in the IDT program I created a few instructional units or projects that contained needs assessments.

To showcase two examples I have linked below, my conceptual instructional unit on being a vegan in Tampa. I have also linked my procedural instruction on how to apply a tourniquet.

Context: During my first semester in the IDT program, my team and I completed a guide containing resources for Tampa's best vegan stops and a step by step guide of how to apply a tourniquet.

Conditions: I worked on a team with three others for this project. We were all new to the program. For each project, we completed a goal analysis, a learner analysis and a needs assessment.  We based our instruction of ARCS Model. We outlined objectives for learners and examined the relevance of the content.

Role: I took the role of team lead for these projects, organizing our deadlines and doing final edits. I also participated in each stage of the analysis and each stage of writing the reports.

Research Projects

Context: In my first semester in the program, Fall 2019, I was enrolled in 603, Inquiry & Measurement. In this class, we conducted a research study with a group. Our research was based on Domestic Violence and social awareness.

Condition: My group, consisting of myself and two others, studied the correlation between mental and emotional health and prevention practices and help center performance.

Scope: The data for this project was created through surveys and interviews, and the pool of subjects came from other students at The University of Tampa.

Role: We drafted proposals, received IRB approval, conducted surveys and interviews, and analyzed/compiled data to write up findings. I was heavily involved in all sections of this project.

 Theories Work

Context: Throughout my time at UT I was enrolled in a class (EME 602) based on the theories of learning and Instructional Design. While most of the projects created touched on theories, please find attached a Personal Learning Theory presentation and annotated bibliography on specific theories. In my work, I used Behaviorism theory and Rise Articulate software. This is my favourite software to work with and attached is one example of my work in Rise.

Role: You can also read about learning theories in the second link, a compilation, and comparison of theories. In this class, we wrote 5 group papers, each with a different partner to develop our personal learning theories. I have compiled them all into one document.

Context: During my Internship at Braathe Enterprises, I created LMS courses for NY Colleges using Articulate Rise and Canvas platforms. As an intern, I provided strong guidance in the curriculum from my own work experience and education. I developed and implemented training best practices, worked well within project management applications, engaged in open discussions with SME on training, and made some excellent, logical recommendations for adjustments to learning environments. I demonstrated great knowledge of curriculum and training design, e-learning tools, and learning management systems.

Project Management

Context: I have linked my Project Management Scope document. For this assignment, I created a project scope that would be hypothetically used to create a curriculum and program for Nursing students wanting to study remotely. In this document, I outline all the parts of the project, the team, and the assignments that would allow the team to complete the project. I had to create the team, the deadlines, the budget, and the roles of each member to complete this project scope. I created this in one of my required classes (EME 641), and it was an independent project.
